Our Values

Our Design Process

Our web site designs are based on a few basic principles.

  • A web site should always be attractive. Users will stay longer with a site that is pleasing to the eye. Solid application of graphical design principles is the key.

  • Unnecessary animation, video, audio adds to the cost of the site without improving communication. Downloading these large files can be a deterent to users without high speed Internet access. Other users may simply find them inefficient. Video and audio may seem like more sophisticated ways to communicate with users, but users can't skim the material provided that way or print it for future reference. Video and audio require the user's attention for a period of time and users are not always willing to give you that much time. Animation, video, and audio should be used only when they are needed to accurately convey information.

  • The design of your web site should reflect the unique personality of your business, not the designer. One-style-fits-all designs or a selection from a limited range of templates cannot meet this goal. Only a creative response to your business style and goals will achieve this goal.

  • Your web site should be easy to maintain and upgrade. Keeping your web site accurate and fresh should not require major redesign work.

If you choose us as your web site designer and administrator, we will work with you to develop the web site you need while working with your preferences and budget.

We understand the Internet; you understand your business; together we will develop a site that is just right for you.

Panhandle Technology has a methodical design process derived from years of experience in programming and project management. This process will ensure that your web site is developed effeciently and meets your needs.

  1. Before we begin to design a basic web site, we will spend an hour or two with you, getting to know you and your business. For complex sites, more than one meeting may be appropriate. See our tips for new web site owners for more details about the kinds of information we need.

  2. While you gather any additional information that you want to provide for your web site, we will do one or more drafts of a home page. We prefer to get your response to more of our ideas before settling on one design, even though we will probably have one version that is clearly better. The additional versions will let you see some of the variations that could be included in the final pages.

  3. We will review the pages with you to arrive at a clear understanding of your choices and advise you on which combinations will be effective.

  4. Based on your responses, we will develop a format for the home page and a template for other pages on the site.

  5. We will make these two pages available to you for your approval.

  6. After making any additional minor changes, we will start developing site pages using content that you provide.

  7. We will thoroughly test your site and then make it available for you to review.

  8. After you approve the site, we will put it on the Internet.

To keep your site accurate, up-to-date, and fresh, consider signing up for a maintenance agreement.
